These albums consist of improvised music, except for the melody of "Tortworth Oak" which developed during the tour of the Netherlands in april 1979.
The pianos were not prepared except for the last 1 1/2 minute of "The Muted Melody", where the strings are dampened by a piece of wood. (Music boxes are also used).
The final piece, "Midnight Snow Walk", is played on a zither.
The music was recorded in Theatres and Jazz Clubs and obviously the pianos and acoustics were different each night. Very special thanks to Rob Sotermann for organising the concerts and recording, but above all for his friendship.
Keith Tippett
Some wear to outer cover, but overall in superb condition. With the exception of the odd pop or crackle here and there, the vinyl records play superbly, all sides.
