Description
This jacket was once "allegedly" worn by Keith Moon of the Who in the 1960's. Though it has a very good chance of being so. Will post Worldwide.
( And if anyone wants to research any picture of him wearing it or the size 42R then by all means get back to me....)
This jacket was given in part payment for a job from someone who lived in Chiswick, London, England near the River Thames and there was a shop there ( maybe still there ) , where there were jackets of Prince, Elton John, Jim Morrison, Jimi Hendrix and Michael Jackson and many others all on show. He bought it there and was a huge fan.The shop had genuine celebrity proof of their stars. I know as I bought a second hand Versace jacket and fake snake skin jacket there. So the shop did exist and I saw the bag and receipt. Since lost.
The jacket came into my possession in the late 1990's. I have no authentication or guarantee or anything other than it was sold by the shop that sells these jackets and I saw the receipt before I owned it. Since lost. I have it on the testimony however of a good lifelong friend and it is a legitimate jacket as far as I know and the character of the person who sold it me is credible as is that of the London shop it was purchased from.
I am putting it up till sold. Make me an Offer. Sold As.
I am selling it at the price it was paid for in the 1990's. And I can only presume it has gone up in value since there as pop memorabilia does.
I know very little about this or The Who.. The condition is fine even wearable but I am guessing it ought to be kept framed really in 2018 like people do football shirts.
This jacket is wearable even now. It is genuine mid/late1960's jacket. That I do know and the story checks out.1966-1967.
But I have no proof. I will accept offers significantly less than £300 but no returns or negative feedback if unhappy with it. I will send it signed for. There are some marks but this jacket has been cared for a lot for a jacket that is 60 years old.
It is worth what it is worth to anyone.
I have nowhere to put it and it will just stay in a suit cover case for the rest of time unless I sell it. So here it is on eBay.
Things like this do not come up very often.
I will be glad it goes to someone who admires Keith Moon who one person said knitted the whole bands music together with his drumming and who of course was a larger than life character with rock n roll antics of legend.
And before you ask I know it was Pete Townsend who mostly wore the Union Jack jacket. This was definitely one belonging to Keith Moon. No mistake here.
I hope it goes to a genuine fan or some museum. It is of no use to me so going cheap I guess for a bit of wearable history.
As far as I know in every way this is the genuine item.
I will accept good offers below the £300 and I will post signed for anywhere in the world. I will allow more off for overseas buyers as the signed for postage is £50.
There are many watchers on this item. Once it is gone it is gone. It is one of a kind and probably worth more than it is listed here.
Thank you
