Kate Bush –The Kick Inside Vinyl LP (??????)   (EMI - EMS-81042)? Grade Ex- 

Unanimously agreed superior and very rare 1978 Japanese 1st Press, with OBI.  Near perfect example of a collector's item.


Condition EX-, as close to near mint as conceivably possible (better than VG+), and graded conservatively :
Only played twice. Kept in thick plastic outer sleeve throughout storage.
Pictures taken to show full extent of minor creasing on sleeve and 0 record imperfections in varied lighting conditions (1 face-on photo per side + 2 angled half-side photos per side).
Sleeve EX- : Very minor corner creasing. Minimal fading on record or OBI. Record EX-: Absolutely pristine condition. No scratches, hairlines or smudges. No aesthetic or audible imperfections whatsoever. Incredibly minor spindle wear on A-side, non on B.

Different (and rather beautiful) front cover art from European or US releases and includes:

• pristine and classic OBI strip
• Perfect condition 2-sided insert with photo, track list, biography (in Japanese), lyrics translated to Japanese
• Original Japanese style U-shaped polythene inner sleeve

Even includes the Japanese tracklist imperfection (one of many ways of telling the superior Japanese 1st pressing), as specified on discogs: '"Strange Phenomena" is spelled "Strange Phenemena" on the label. The mistake was not corrected on the Japanese reissue'


A treasured and reluctant sale. Sad to let it go but a great standout, rare piece for any collection, especially fans. One to show off for sure, and needs a good home!

Will come packaged with new mailers and stiffeners for protection. I am a record-seller in my spare time.
I would prefer a) to send tracked, shipped and insured (due to value) which if in UK would be £9.50 inc p+p and protects us both, 
or buyer can choose to opt for b) cheaper £6 inc p+p non-tracked non-insured but signed for, but in this case buyer accepts full responsibility for any damage incurred in transit.
