Kashmere Stage Band - Plays Originals LP on Kram, LP-106. Original pressing. This one was sealed and has been played only a few times, still in shrink wrap. Record is VG++ to M- (very minor paper scuffs, basically the same condition as when it was unsealed). Cover and labels are M-. Almost impossible to find this in better condition. From the back cover: "The Kashmere High School Stage Band is a swinging' group of 25 black youngsters from Kashmere High in Houston, Texas. They don't just play their instruments. Every kid in the band is a living musician, dancing and swinging to the rhythm produced by two sets of drums, conga, bongos, and timbales. The trumpet, trombone and sax sections dance and shuffle when not playing and also while playing, yet it does not affect the exciting overall sound of the band. The trumpets are swinging back and forth just groovin'. In addition to the large percussion and full band there are five female vocalists to add to the musical variety of this outstanding jazz-rock group." The whole album is solid, but the breaks on "Kashmere" are absolutely ridiculous. The best Kashmere Stage Band record, in my opinion. Tracks include: Do You Dig It Man?, Thunder Soul, Kashmere, Lost Love, Don't Mean a Thing, Head Wiggle, All Praises. A lesser condition copy sold for over $500 recently.
About me: I've been collecting records for a long time, over 20 years, but more heavily beginning in the early 90s. I'm not a professional dealer. The items I'm auctioning are coming from my collection. I remember the feeling of listening to some of these records for the first time; hopefully now I will be passing that feeling on to some of you. I'm also familiar with the feeling of receiving a record in worse condition than described and feeling cheated; I have no desire to have any transaction end that way here. Every record here is visually inspected and play-graded and will be shipped in sturdy record mailers. I'm selling off some of my records because I sadly need the money, but it's also my aim that the record brings you happiness and not regret. I'm putting up some killer rarities so please check my other auctions for more soul, funk, jazz, Latin, Brazilian, African goodness. My scale goes: S/S (still sealed), M-, VG+, VG, VG-, G, F.
