Description
Very rare Australian LP from Kanguru entitled "Dreaming".
1st pressing released on the Ranger Records label, serial number RRCS-2497.
This is a private press release from 1976 with the band described on various music sites as a 70's Oz hippie band and the genre as "folk, prog rock, stoner, blues etc etc".
The line up was:
Pakhavaj [Pakhawaj], Tambura [Tanpura] – Guy Madigan
Sarod [Electric Sarode], Vocals, Twelve-String Guitar, Didgeridoo – Paul Gibson (Mckenzie Theory)
Tabla, Flute, Percussion – Keith Manning
Viola [Electric Viola] – Cleis Pearce
Vocals – Oshia White.The plain white private press cover is intact and has a pasted on front and rear overlay. The rear cover has "Paul Gibson hand-written in pen above his name, not sure if that is his signature or if someone has just written his name.
There is a stain to the front cover as seen in the listing photos.
Both labels are clean.
Side one of the record has some noticeable marks, the most obvious being two parallel straight drag lines across the second half. I have tried to capture this in the listing photos. I have p/ay tested the record and it does not skip or stick at any stage with my Rega/Ortofon combination. The sound quality is solid.VG-.
Side two is VG to VG+.
