Khavas Jute - WIDE OPEN Stereo Australian OZ Rock 1971 Original Issue Vinyl LP. WE SHIP WORLD WIDE. This is a rare item in the original vinyl issue and cover. Vinyl re-issues are sometimes available on ebay but this is an ORIGINAL AUSTRALIAN PRESSING. Kahvas Jute's "Wide Open" has been described (a little clumsily I feel) as "a progressive rock milestone and a consummate example of underground psychedelic hard rock at its most inventive and powerful. As the title suggests, Wide Open is a free-flowing and expansive musical blending of rock, blues and jazz, and to leaven out the sound there's a touch of acid folk thrown in for good measure." It continues to be held as one of Australia's prime rock collectables and is hard to come by in any condition - let alone this near fine vinyl copy and excellent cover. There is some very minor feint edgewear to the front top and and bottom corners of the cover gatefold sleeve (check scan to see the extent of this) but which does not detract from the overall fantastic art work. There is some feint ring wear on the back gatefold which is sufficiently minor to be only visible in some lights. The flash actually depicts the back cover in its absolute worst light and it does not look at all this significant in normal non-flash light conditions. The inner gatefold photos are in excellent condition and depicts fine real photo images of the band members playing theri instruments. The vinyl album itself is in excellent (near glossy) condition and appears to have had minimal handling and been played only a very few times. It plays almost completely without noise and, I guess, has only been played a few times - if at all. I tested it in response to an ebay inquiry and all I noted were some light crackles at the start of the soft opening of one side before the other instruments joined in. The album music itself is characterized by the highly distinctive guitar soloing of Dennis Wilson and the astoundingly talented Tim Gaze (formerly of Taman Shud and who is absolutely sensational on the Goolutionites & the Real People album which I will also be soon listing). This is a highly desirable classic rock LP for the serious collector and I think Dennis Wilson can still be seen playing around the traps ocassionally in Australia. This album opens with a wah-wah-fuzz blitz that sets the tone for what is one of the heaviest australian psyche albums of the era. Bassist Bob Daisley went on to work with such legends as Ozzy Osbourne, Widowmaker, Ritchie Blackmore and Gary Moore. This is a classic Australian OZ Rock vinyl LP which is very hard to come by in any condition - let alone in this very pleasing state. Australian rock was an amazing phenomenon in the early 1970s and most afficionados would be proud to have this rare original item in their collection. I suspect I have undervalued this original pressing and issue because even though Galadriel's self titled vinyl LP (Galadriel) is often cited as the "holy grail" of Australian vinyl rock collectors I personaly think this almost equally rare original pressing is a much more enjoyable album. The cover art work is a sensational hippy-trippy image of the band by an unnamed artist. I am an art historian and think the cover of both the Kahvas Jute and Galadriel album (which I have concurrently listed on ebay) are worth framing in their own right without the vinyl! Serious artefact collectors, however, would probably be unwilling to separate the vinyl from the cover. Good luck with your bidding. TERMS & CONDITIONS WE SHIP WORLD WIDE.
