Please note: This is a brand new account because I have been commissioned to sell a large collection of records that once belonged a DJ in Santa Barbara, CA (more about him below) and the collection belongs to DodgerBob. WOW!! For sale is a first US pressing of Kraftwerk’s visionary 1977 album Trans Europe Express incredibly STILL FACTORY SEALED! This is guaranteed to be a true 1977 US first pressing. The 1979 reissue clearly has a barcode on back, and this does not. The sleeve is still tightly sealed in original shrink wrap, remains uncreased and in Near Mint condition with only a promo punch hole in the upper right hand corner. There is a slight wrinkle around the punch hole and this is the only spot where a tiny section of the shrink has torn slightly. (See pics). This comes from the collection of a California DJ in the 1970’s (more about him below) and there are several sealed records that he didn’t open since they did not fit the format of the radio station (or his personal taste). It is incredibly RARE to find a factory sealed first pressing of this album.

Sleeve: SS (Still Sealed) NM

BEAUTIFUL crisp sleeve has sharp corners and no creases or bends. Promo punch hole in upper right corner only. Original factory shrink has breath holes and remains unsplit, only having very slightly torn near the promo punch hole. Sleeve has begun to “bow” slightly as to be expected with being tightly shrink wrapped for 43 years.

Disc: SS (Still Sealed) M (Presumed Mint)

Disc has never been removed from the sleeve so is presumed to be in mint condition.

This copy is from the collection of Bob Senn - a renowned Santa Barbara, California DJ and program director for KTMS FM “The Rock on the Coast”. When Mr. Senn passed, his collection was acquired by my friend who has commissioned me to help sell them. There are thousands of records in the collection, almost all promotional copies in mint or close to mint condition.

Grading System:

SS (Still Sealed)

Unopened records, still in original shrink wrap. In original manufactured condition unless otherwise noted (i.e. evidence of mildew or bent corners, etc.)

M (Mint)

The record and sleeve are in perfect, original condition. The record may have been played but will have no evidence of deterioration. (I will only use this grade on SEALED records that appear to be Mint as I believe any non-new, opened record cannot be truly called MINT.

NM (Near Mint)

A nearly perfect record. Any visible defects are of the type that "disappear" when the record is tilted under a strong light and they should not affect play. Sleeves in near mint condition will have no obvious signs of wear. Practically imperceptible ring wear may be allowed but no creases, seam-splits, or other easily detected flaws will be present.

EX (Excellent)

A very clean record. Near mint except for slight, superficial signs of wear. Sleeves in this condition may have marginal defects, but will not have significant creases or splits.

VG+ (Very Good Plus)

A well-cared-for record that is noticeably less than perfect, but defects are not visually or audibly distracting. Record surfaces may have slight scuffs or light scratches, but are still primarily clean. Sleeves may have some creases or minor ring wear, but should not be split.

VG (Very Good)

A used, reasonable copy to play. Many of the defects found in a VG+ copy will be more pronounced in VG condition. Surface noise may be evident and sleeves may look worn, but the record is still a decent copy.

G (Good)

A well-worn record that is still playable. Good does not necessarily mean "bad" but a record in this condition will have audible distractions and may have visible groove wear. Sleeves may have all manner of defects, but are still intact.

FA (Fair) and P (Poor)

These grades are for beat-up records. I will only sell records in these grades if they are extremely rare and sought-after.
