USA GILBERT KONG CUT MASTERDISK PROMO VINYL LP WITH COMPANY INNER.
This is an iconic album for many reasons. It is also superbly recorded, with warm, lush and haunting analog-synths, best avoided on CD if at all possible. On vinyl, THIS IS THE PRESSING TO OWN. Why? Well, not only is it a promo copy, meaning it is one of the very the first pressings cut from the original masters, it is also the work of the cutting genius Gilbert Kong. We have compared this Masterdisk cut with the German original (which, like most German pressings, sounds a bit dry and dark, perhaps that is how the music was intended, but it somehow misses the sublime humour it contains), and the UK first pressing, which is excellent but does not have quite the same ambiance as this Masterdisk does - in fact, the Masterdisk is more alive, has more presence and a much richer, deeper tonal bass and bottom end - the upper-mids are more spacious and the album has far greater 'bounce' to it. If you have a great hi fi, the moment you put the title track on you'll hear what we mean. These promo copies are as rare as hen's teeth, don't let this one slip you buy...

DISC: EXCELLENT. CLEAN VINYL WITH NO MARKS OR SCRATCHES AND NO NOTICEABLE SPINDLE WEAR, THE ONLY THING TO BE SEEN IS THE USUAL SHADE GRADUATIONS WITHIN THE DISC VINYL ITSELF.
