VINYL is VG+/EX
High Gloss Vinyl without a scratch on it, but there are some light cosmetic storage marks*, mostly at rim edges, but on 2 sides (VG+ for these sides) this effect is visible in a section on first few tracks as well. No matter, it is almost entirely inaudible. The playback is quite clean throughout, with some very light crackle inherent in the pressing, faintly heard between tracks and in a few very quiet passages. The recording quality itself is top-notch - clear, bright and full. Labels are pristine all 4 sides, without a single spindle trail to be seen. .
*"storage marks", for those unfamiliar, are slightly lighter appearing spots on the vinyl from decades-long pressure against paper inner sleeves in storage. They exist on the very top of the grooves only and generally have no effect on sound.
COVER is EX+
Snapping bright and super clean all around with no wear, creases, writing, spotting or soil. It would be Near Mint except that the semi-matte coating is inconsistent in a few spots (only noticeable under close scrutiny at an angle, in bright light). All edges straight, all corners sharp. Seams and spine are 100% intact with no wear or splits. Spine titles are crisp and sharp, completely legible.

A collection of rare and obscure Kinks tracks spanning 1964-1981. Lots of great rare Kinks music!
Pressed in very small numbers only.

1981 1st Press with the original tri-color green, yellow and pink labels. a second (again small, limited) run was pressed in 1983, by ‘popular demand’ - easily distinguishable by the black and white, no-color labels and the more muted colors on the front cover graphics.
Contains unreleased demo recordings, earliest 2 Kinks singles, rare single B-Sides from various countries, and completely unreleased, obscure versions of Kinks Klassiks including two recordings made for a UK television appearance and one live recording.

The back cover notes contain an excellent description of each track. 30 Tracks in all …among other treasures for the dedikated Kinks Kollektor this 2LP set contains a beautiful, melancholy and extremely elusive, very early version of SCRAPHEAP CITY… A separate, unique take even from the equally glorious and rare B-Side version on the "One of The Survivors"  single (and unlike that also highly-sought Single B-Side, this one was done in stereo) -  and very different than what appeared on the Preservation Act 2 LP itself. Probably the last truly great ‘Golden Era of The Kinks’ style recording from Ray and The Kinks (All vocal by Ray Davies, NO female singers, no session players) … similar in feel and sound to “Sitting In The Midday Sun”, “Dead End Street”, “God’s Children” (from PERCY), “Holiday”, “Autumn Almanac”, etc. Sublime! …and a full 1 1/2 minutes longer than the ho-hum, mediocre LP version.
Much more fascinating material here that, while you may easily recognize most of the titles of these tracks, are different versions than what appeared on official KINKS albums.

Incredibly scarce these days!
I would never sell this except that it came from the collection of my late best-friend who was as completely dedicated a KINKS fan as I am - and is thereby a duplicate of my own copy that I've treasured for decades. I am keeping my own (1983, 2nd press) copy - and passing this one on for another Kinks fanatic to enjoy. GOD SAVE THE KINKS
