Kitty Winter is a Sinti-gipsy, sometimes she sings in her native gipsy-language “Romanese” but most of the time she sings in english. Her first album by is a unique blend of bossa, funky fusion and latin-jazz. It’s still an all-time-favourite of mine for several reasons: all tracks are smashers, there’s not one weak track and all tunes are self-penned! Extremely beautiful voice and scat-vocals! An extraordinary mix of electric and acoustic instruments, many great synth-solos over an acoustic backing! And there’s more jazz-feeling than on most other latin-jazz LPs of that time. Highly recommended!
