Up for bid is a highly sought after numbered, limited edition picture-disc pressing of KISS’s 1977 LP “Love Gun.” This LP was released is a very limited run of only 1500 pieces by Dutch label Stemra/Phonogram. In order to distinguish these official discs from bootleg versions, the discs were stamped with numbers ranging from 000001-001500; this particular LP is number 000807, so this gem is clearly a rarity. I bought this picture disc well over a decade ago from a record dealer, and I have never played the LP. I am not a record collector by trade, so I’m not qualified to officially grade records. Therefore, I’ll do my best to describe this record, but please keep in mind that my assessment is an amateur one. The LP looks great; as far as I know it has never been played; it certainly hasn’t been played while I’ve owned it. The record does have some faint scuffing on the surface, ironically enough, from rubbing against the clear vinyl protective sleeve. These scuffs are miniscule and aren’t noticeable unless one examines the LP under direct light. These scuff marks are common to most all of these picture discs that were issued in similar protective sleeves. The imperfections do not detract from the look or integrity of the LP at all. The clear protective sleeve does, however, show noticeable wear. The sleeve has pin holes in the top corner where it was once pinned to a wall to display the LP in a store. There is also some general storage wear on the protective sleeve, but again this has nothing to do with the picture disc itself. The clear sleeve is just that: a plain clear sleeve. This is certainly a rarity, and it is priced to sell for a fair price.
