Description

KISS DYNASTY NBLP 7152 (501) 1st pressing LP. sealed. includes poster and order form (heavy copy!).  no barcode. if you're looking for the PERFECT copy of Dynasty, this is it.
about DYNASTY USA:
fueled by the huge hit "I was made for lovin' you" DYNASTY was a smash success with the mainstream record buying public selling a little over 2,000,000 copies. but at the same time, it alienated the core fanbase that eagerly awaited a hard rock follow up to ALIVE II. KISS would feel the shock of this loss on the follow up LP UNMASKED. the 2nd single "Sure know something" didnt impress either fanbase.
There were 3 pressings of Dynasty.
1. the first pressing is the most common. it is a glossy shiny cover that should have included a folded full color poster, an order form and info about the KISS pinball machine, a disco-like logo innersleeve, and a band portrait label on both sides of the LP (same photo as the poster). it was overpressed and many were sent back to bargain bins with cut corners.
2. the second pressing was issued in 1981 either using leftover jackets from the first press or with lower quality (thinner, flatter color) new jackets with the number 501 in the top right corner. some had barcode stickers placed on the jackets, but most did not. some came with the poster, rarely the order form, and some had the portrait labels and some had a standard filmworks label with a PolyGram records address. innsersleeve was either plain plastic or white and brown "filmworks" paper.
3. the third and final vinyl pressing was full-on PolyGram. it utilized the new barcode system, all inserts were deleted, and the innersleeve was blank and made of clear plastic. plain white innersleeves were never used for ANY PolyGram issues contrary to price guide belief, but in rare occasions Filmworks paper sleeves were included.  like most of the PolyGram issues of the KISS catalog, ALL copies of this album with a printed barcode were made of cheaper, brown cardboard. it is the rarest pressing and despite its flaws should be considered more valuable than its reputation suggests.
