Description
This is an auction for a copy of the Classic debut Lp by King Crimson entitled In the Court of the Crimson King released in the Uk in 1969 on Island records cat no ILPS 9111. This is a rare early press on the Pink Island label with the Matrix number A3 and B3.
The Vinyl looks superb and i am happy to grade it as visually being in Excellent condition. I have listened to the entire Lp at high volume and it sounds great as well. The Lp sits nice and flat on the turntable. Side 1 sounds superb and plays without skips or jumps and only some light background noise. The music is very clear and vibrant with good sound seperation. I am happy to grade the audio on side 1 as excellent. Side 2 plays well without skips or jumps. There is some light background noise and some light ticks but i happy to grade the audio on side 2 as Very Good+.
The labels are in Excellent++ condition.
The Original E.J Day gatefold cover is in Very Good+ condition. There is some light storage wear to the corners and edges but the wording on the spine is clearly still visible. This is a difficult cover to keep intact but this one is definately one of the better ones. It still looks excellent when it is opened.
Overall a really nice copy of this magnificent LP

Grading:- MINT: The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in perfect condition. Records advertised as Sealed or Unplayed should be Mint.
EXCELLENT: The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.
VERY GOOD: The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.
GOOD: The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discoloration, etc
