Another from my personal collection Original 1st UK pressing on the Island pink rim labels featuring the earliest A-1 B-1 Matrix endings! and the earliest possible "1" to "1" mother stampers both sides! 1st pressings of this album rarely surfaces for sale which is why I decided to list this album very rarely do you see them this early. Wow what an album, the audio is quite an eye opener, clear and vibrant throughout. There is the odd isolated static crackle and ticks heard in some of the quieter places and at the intro to the first track on side one but the actual main audio is impressive in my opinion and without and loud constant clicks or pops heard. I would grade the audio at least excellent to near excellent plus for the most part in my opinion.  A very playable and enjoyable album to have and own. The original 1st issue Robor printed fully laminated  cover is also super glossy clean and straight with some laminate lift at the spine and bottom edge corner common on this pressing.
A great playable and collectable psych Jazz progressive rock album.

USA is a live album by the English band King Crimson, released in 1975. It was mostly recorded at the Casino, Asbury Park, on 28 June 1974. The exceptions are track 7, which was recorded at the Palace Theatre, Providence, USA, on 30 June 1974, and Eddie Jobson's overdubs on tracks 2, 3 and 7, which were recorded in a studio.




Track 1 is a brief excerpt of "The Heavenly Music Corporation" from (No Pussyfooting). While it was not listed as a separate track on the original album, it is present on all releases. On the original UK vinyl release, the audience noise after the end of the last track was imbedded in a locked groove, leaving the applause to go on forever.




There have been four releases of the album:




Original vinyl release in 1975. Includes tracks 1 - 7 (although track 1 & 2 are combined) and Eddie Jobson's overdubs.
30th Anniversary Remaster released 2002. Added tracks 8 & 9 to original release, credited track 1.




2005 mix of original multi-track tapes by Ronan Chris Murphy at DGM. Released as download from dgmlive.com in 2005 and on The Collectable King Crimson Vol. 1 in 2006. Includes all tracks; 21st Century Schizoid Man is moved to be the last track and is now the version from Asbury Park 28 June 1974. Does not include Eddie Jobson's overdubs.




2013 mix by original multi-track tapes by Robert Fripp, Tony Arnold and David Singleton at the Courthouse, Cranborne, Dorset. Same track order and versions as release #3. Splits improv at end of track 6 into its own track.

The Vinyl
The vinyl lays perfectly flat on the turntable and is free of any warping. On initial inspection it is hard for me to even see a blemish on the playing surface. On closer inspection I notice  the odd small surface mark/scratch only but nothing too deep that would cause any loud constant clicks or pops.

The Audio quality
I have played the vinyl through out at loud volume on a top system and also recorded the audio for you to hear for yourself in the player provided above.
The audio is clear and very vibrant throughout and plays without distortion or signs that this has been overplayed. In fact it is my conclusion that this vinyl has had only very minimal play only and not played that much at all. I heard some isolated static type ticks and crackle in the odd quiet place such as the intro to side one but as soon as the main audio starts this is soon forgotton and certainly makes up for this. This has to be one of the most vibrant sounding copies that I have heard.
Please note! It is easy to be critical about these mid seventies Island pressings as they are notorious for having static in quiet places. The fact that this is one of the earliest pressed makes all the difference for the vibrancy heard throughout this vinyl. I would grade this audio at least excellent to excellent plus for the most part.
Please note! I always add this disclaimer! I have given my honest opinion when describing the audio quality of this album and those who know the listings and vinyls that i sell my prime interest is the audio quality! Please allow for the odd isolated static/ticks/light click but nothing consistent  through out the audio! This is a genuine (not) reissue vinyl that is 40 years old and would have been played on a system that is 40 years old!

Please note, this album has been stored in a case laying dormant for at least 35 years or more. A build up of dirt and dust in the grooves causes static\ crackle. A constant clean before each play is recommended. This will reduce any static and will enhance the audio quality. Points to note, I notice debrit on the playing surface after play so this will need cleaning before each play which will further enhance this audio quality.
