Description

KING CRIMSON - RED

A truly wonderful condition UK 1st press copy of this 1974 King Crimson prog rock gem.

Year/Label : 1974 UK ISLAND Label number : ILPS 9308 Matrix numbers : ILPS 9308 A - 3U, ILPS 9308 B-6U (with "Sean" and "Pecko" etched in side 1 and side 2 dead wax areas) Stampers :  2 RA / 2 RR
Excellent+++ (EX+++) condition vinyl -  gleaming with beautiful jet black sheen, completely flat and weighty with just a few extremely faint wispy scuff lines only detectable upon close inspection under a bright light, and even then only just identifiable. Most would grade as "near mint", I am sure. Near mint (NM) condition labels with not even the usual one or two faint spindle trails - pristine. Clearly this is a record that has been played only a handful of times, with the superlative stereo sound quality further supporting this view.  Fully laminated near mint (NM) condition original Robor Limited outer sleeve with firm unscuffed edges, perfectly defined right angled corners, rigid spine with all spine perfectly intact, firm opening edges with no fraying, no laminate creasing or lifting, and all colours, art work, text, and photos remaining beautifully intact. Hard to believe that the record and outer sleeve are both 50 years of age! Near mint (NM) stereo audio quality with no skips, jumps, repeats, sticks, clicks, distortion, interference, or background crackle. Stunning! Every track makes for superb listening - what a truly great prog LP this remains. Comes with excellent condition light blue inner sleeve with correct "basing street london w11", "PATENT Nos..." and "MADE IN GREAT BRITAIN" texts, with no seam splits, no age discolouration or edge fraying, some light surface creasing only and remaining fully functional. Note that I will ship the record in a new plain white poly-lined inner sleeve in order to protect the original.    One of the all time great prog rock LP's - surely there cannot be many better condition UK 1st pressings than this.
POSTAGE COSTS :

For the UK £4 using Royal Mail tracked 48;

for continental Europe £11 using Royal Mail 1st class tracked and signed for,

and for the rest of the world £18 using Royal Mail 1st class tracked and signed for.

I do provide posting and packaging discounts for multiple purchases. I make no profit from postage.

Note that I always insert the vinyl into a new plain white poly-lined inner sleeve in order to protect the original during postage, and separate this from the outer sleeve to prevent seam splits. I use thick cardboard stiffeners and take great care in my packaging to ensure as far as possible that these precious records reach their destination in exactly the same condition as when they leave me.

A bit about myself : I have been collecting UK vinyl for over 54 years from a variety of sources : my own collection, friends and family, car boot and garage sales, door-to-door leaflets, and even through placing an advert in my wife's shop window! My ebay feedback speaks for itself so rest assured that you are buying from a trusted seller and in the very unlikely event that you are unhappy with your purchase just e-mail me and I will sort out the problem. I offer a "no questions asked" refund policy. If you require any further information, including photos, then let me know and I'll do my best to oblige. There is NO RESERVE on this item. Richard
