Another from my personal collection. One of my favourite Crimson albums!,  Purchased from new and only played initially a hand full of times originally to tape, the vinyl stored seperately in a case for more than 33 years!!!!! This being one of my favourite King Crimson albums, more raunchy and a heavier prog. rock album than previous recordings!!!! This being the original 1st uk pressing on the Island pink rimed label (a thicker type of vinyl than later pressings)ABSOLUTELY TOP AUDIO!!!!!!!!!! 

Red is a 1974 album by progressive rock group King Crimson. It was their last recording of the 1970s and the last before the lead member Robert Fripp temporarily disbanded the group. Fripp and drummer Bill Bruford are the only personnel on this album to appear in later versions of King Crimson!!!!.

David Cross left King Crimson in 1974, reducing the group to the trio of Robert Fripp, John Wetton and Bill Bruford. The trio recorded Red with the help of Cross and former band-members Ian McDonald and Mel Collins. Fripp disbanded King Crimson on September 24, 1974, and the album was released later that year with no accompanying tour.

While musically similar to its predecessor Starless and Bible Black, Red was produced very differently from previous King Crimson albums, resulting in what band-members felt was a better approximation of their aggressive live sound.For instance, while the acoustic guitar features prominently in previous releases, on Red it is heard only for a few bars in "Fallen Angel". Also, unlike previous King Crimson albums, Red features extensive use of guitar overdubs. Later albums lacked acoustic guitar entirely and reverted to a minimum of overdubs, though by that point the band featured multiple guitarists playing simultaneously.

The Vinyl

This vinyl has only been played by me a handfull of times from new and has been stored in a case for at least 30 years!!!!!

The vinyl looks pristine (no) needle scratches unbeleivable for 33 years old!!! Any marks that could possibly be seen in strong light could only be sleeve removal marks only perhapes the odd very light scuff (non audio sounding)!!! I have played this awesome sounding vinyl prior to listing, This plays through with top! top! top! cristal clear audio throughout on all frequencies in fact like cd quality!!! (no) distortion or any problems at all absolutely superb!!! Please allow for the very very light static that may be heard in quiet places but in my personal opinion this is as good as it gets!! One of my favourite Crimson albums! Top Top Audio on all frequencies!!!!This will be hard to surpass!!!!!! 

Please note! This has been stored in a case laying dormant for at least 25 years! A build up of dirt and dust in the grooves causes static crackle\ticks. A constant clean before each play is recomended!! This will reduce any static crackle and enhance the audio quality!!

I always add this disclaimer! Please allow for the odd light static crackle\ticks (not) consistant throughout the audio! Please remember that this is a 34 year old vinyl that would have originally been played on a 34 year old system! 

The labels

Like new! the original pink rimed island labels (only 1st press) limited spidering can barely be seen (only angled )in strong light! (Amaizingly perhapes only two or three only)!!! this has not been overplayed (no) spindleware the hole is perfectly round!!!!

The cover

This is the original 1st press fully laminated (both sides) 'ROBOR LIMITED' cover! Very near pristine!! Try to find better! Being primarily black in colour they are very hard to keep in good condition (no) splits or tares (no) real creases to talk of absolutely top condition!!Super glossy apearance ! Perfect square spine!!!

AN ARCHIVE COPY NEVER NEED TO UPGRADE!!!!!
