Description

This LP is in beautiful condition and, as a first pressing (matrix nos. A//1 and B//1), it's getting very rare.

It's on the UK pink 'i' Island label and is entitled 'In The Wake Of Poseidon' by King Crimson. It's their second album.

It's a stereo recording and the catalogue number is ILPS 9127. It was released originally in 1970.

OUTER SLEEVE - I have never seen a sleeve for this LP in such beautiful condition. The sleeve which is textured on the outside and is fragile is in great condition. There is virtually no wear on the front, rear, edges or spine. The wording along the spine is 100% readable. This is very rare. I've graded the sleeve Ex++. You just won't find a sleeve for this record which is in such a great condition.

INNER BAG - This is the standard early white die cut paper, polythene lined type used for Island pressings before the light blue type was introduced. On one side is printed in blue 'PLASTIC BAGS CAN BE DANGEROUS... ETC. British patent No. 800513 & 973939 - MADE IN ENGLAND'.I've garded this Ex++ as well.

RECORD - The record is in superb condition. It looks very clean and shiny and appears to have been played only a few times. There are some very superficial marks on either side which do not affect the quality. It plays very well on both sides with some minor surface noise and some occasional pops and clicks on both sides. These blemishes do not detract from the overall quality of record. There are no jumps on any of the tracks on either side.

LABELS - The labels are pink (textured feel) with the white 'i' at the bottom of the labels and black wording. There are some minor spindle marks around both holes. The labels are in fine condition with no damage. There are a couple of small,slightly discoloured marks on the label on side two which can hardly be noticed. The matrix numbers on the run-off grooves are - side one - ILPS 9127 A//1 1 1 - side two - ILPS 9127 B//1 1 3 1. I've graded the record as Ex++ which I believe is very fair.

I try to grade everything very conservatively and I believe that the winner of this auction will not be disappointed. I guarantee everything I sell. It will be difficult to find this first pressing again in such beautiful condition.
