UK ISLAND (ILPS 9111) FIRST PINK ISLAND PRESSING (October 1969) OF KING CRIMSON'S ICONIC PROG DEBUT "In The Court Of The Crimson King" IN BEAUTIFUL CONDITION DELIVERING STUNNING AUDIO THROUGHOUT (ON MY SYSTEM - AT A VERY, VERY LOUD VOLUME!) AND CONTAINING JUST ABOUT THE CLEANEST EXAMPLE OF "Moonchild" I HAVE HEARD (please see detailed audio assessment below) - FANTASTIC COPY AND THEY REALLY DON'T COME MUCH BETTER THAN THIS - IT'S BARELY BEEN PLAYED (the labels show maybe two spindle traces on Side Two and none on Side One and the playing surfaces are unmarked) BEAUTIFUL COPY - VERY, VERY HIGHLY RECOMMENDED INDEED

COMPLETE WITH THE ORIGINAL POLYDOR POLY-LINED INNER SLEEVE - THIS IS DATE CODED '099' (09 = September, 9 = 1969) (Until the 1970s the 1960 notation of the decade did not seem necessary so the single digit 9 = 1969)

LABELS: Clean, bright and unmarked with no spindle traces on Side One and only a couple of barely noticeable light traces on Side Two - a beautiful barely played copy - MINT(-)
VINYL Visual: The vinyl surfaces retain their original, just pressed, deep glossy sheen and are unmarked - even under bright light I cannot see even a wispy hairline - the surfaces are pristine - MINT
VINYL Audio: Stunning audio reproduction throughout - deep, rich, warm and incredibly strong. On playback at a very loud volume (which is how I always listen to my records prior to listing and it's always an immense pleasure to return to this one) there are no scratches, no sticks/jumps or in fact, any real audio issues to report. "Moonchild" (always the most problematic track) plays beautifully with just one 'pop' (just after the first vocal section) - but this the only (tiny) audible flaw which rises above background level - there are a couple of (very, very minor) light ticks but these are purely background and there is no surface noise and no crackle - easily the finest sounding "Moonchild" I have heard and the rest of the LP sounds equally stunning. This is an exceptional clean pressing (it's barely been played) and they really don't come much better than this. Critically graded a strong NEAR MINT for audio it's the best I've heard and, in my opinion, just about the closest to a perfect MINT as you are ever likely to find
SLEEVE: The original gatefold sleeve (printed by EJ DAY) is also in beautiful condition. The edges and spine show very, very little wear - all spine text is clear and bold. The outer surfaces are clean and bright with an unfaded, strong vibrant colour to Barry Godber's striking painting. There is a little rubbing to the bottom portion of the front (please see close-up photographs) but overall, I think it's very minor. The inside is like new. Overall, a beautiful example - EXCELLENT+
The original 1969 Polydor poly-lined inner sleeve is clean and unmarked with no splits and the plastic lining still firmly attached - EXCELLENT+
