Earliest pressing of this album with pink rim Island labels, flipback outer sleeve (with no text) and printed inner foldout sleeve. This is a superb copy of a very collectible record from prog pioneers King Crimson. The flipback sleeve is in Excellent condition with no ring-wear, shelf-wear, seam-splits, tears or writing. The gatefold lyrics inner sleeve is notoriously fragile and displays some minor signs of wear. Two of the edges have seam splits but apart from that it is in remarkably good shape.
The vinyl itself looks shiny and lustrous with no obvious signs of age. If inspected under a very strong light there is evidence of some very fine hairlines or paper extraction marks. The pink rim labels are clean and bright with a small circular residue mark on side one where a tiny sticker was removed. I have listened to the record all the way through and was very impressed with the clarity and dynamic range of the sound. There are no skips, loud pops or recurring ticks and I would grade the vinyl as a strong VG+. Due to the nature of the music, the record often goes from very quiet to very loud and vice versa. Some surface noise is audible during the quieter passages but it never becomes obtrusive.
