Country:UK Released:1969 Genre:Rock Style:Prog Rock CONDITION: VG / FAIR. The gatefold sleeve has edge buffing, creases, a pen name is written on the inside top right corner and some very light dirt or fading marks can just be seen. The sleeve is made by E.J.Day, London. Both labels are in fairly good condition, clean with a little spindle wear seen on each side, please check the pics for clarification, I have pictured the labels twice, with & without a flash so you can see the spindle trails, its quite well played but certainly not well played. The vinyl retains some of its shine but has numerous scratches one of which looks very severe, pictured. It's appearance is not great with it looking as though it has not been cared for properly, no warps, chips or cracks. I have of course play tested this through both sides and was pleased to find it did play through. I have taken notes on each track these are as follows; Side 1. Track 1 - Loud audible feckling from the quiet start in the form of crackles and occasional pop, this is then mostly drowned out by the strong audio when the music drops, plays through with audible feckling in places. The music itself is heard above the feckling through this track. Track 2 - Same again from the quiet start, loud audible feckling, crackles and occasional pop. This is a fairly quiet track in its nature, for instance the quiet flute solo, although heard with feckling, can be heard in its entirity, as we reach the final quarter of this track one jump occurs, then going on to play ok, as above with feckling but the music itself can be heard. Track 3 - Plays through better, still feckling in places, but mostly quieter and mostly drowned out by the music itself with some of this track sounding clear. Side 2. Track 1 - Like side one loud feckling from the start, this does not drown out the music which can be heard, this is a quiet track hence the feckling is more apparent, one jump occurs when reaching the piano solo in this track then when passing over the pictured sever looking scratch, 3 or 4 loud thuds are heard, one on each rotation, a word of caution here, not jumping on my system but I imagine this will jump on some. I would say that this track certainly has the poorest audio on this LP, quiet in nature with the feckling certainly being louder than the music itslef in places. Track 2 - Louder track this one, once it drops it mostly drowns out the feckling which is occuring, a loud tick can then be heard on each rotation on the first quiet section of this track, again the music drops and thius either stops or gets drowned out by the strong audio. Then going on to play ok, with clear patches and the music playing well above any feckling heard. Track 3 - A tick is heard at the very quiet start, like the track above when the music drops this drowns out most of any feckling that may be occuring going on to play out fine, when the music reduces in volume at the very end of this side the feckling can once more be heard. Obviously I have been as accurate as possible with my deck but one more or less, pop, crackle, jump can not be accounted for as each deck will no doubt play this slightly differently. In any case a grading of fair is correct with the record being playable but dispalys considerable surface noise and even jumps. On a more personal note other than track one, of side two, I did enjoy listening to this LP with the audio being exceptable and the music itself heard in its entirity. Forget track one this is ruined by the heavy feckling and made me nervous in regards to my stylus. So a very rare gap filler and collectable. grading table
