Killing Floor: "Out Of Uranus" 1970, UK/Penny Farthing PELS 511. Disc has some light hairlines from dust in the inner sleeve, plays M- so it gets an EX grade. Gatefold cover is unlaminated and very fragile, this example has light overall wear but no splits, it gets a VG+ grade and will be very tough to upgrade! LOOK AGAIN, it's an original British press, not a continental issue! This LP tends to get lumped into the UK blues boom bag like their first LP does, but that's a flawed categorisation. This album is a heavy prog monster! "Soon There Will Be Everything" has a bizarre arrangement with a dark atmosphere and mellotron, it's pure early 70s head music. There are some hard rocking tracks and they have an unbelievably fat and punishing sound, really jaw-dropping, like on "Fido Castrol" or the heavy riffing intro to "Son Of Wet". I suppose if your band is named "Killing Floor" you're destined to play gigs with Savoy Brown and Mayall but this LP could very easily have been issued on Vertigo alongside Gravy Train, May Blitz and Freedom. Totally killer LP, and so rare!
