FUNK DISCO AFRO JAZZ unknown ARTHUR CONLEY Dutch only 7 inch
Langa Langa - It's All Right Sweat records 208021 Netherlands 1980Unique and totally unknown single, two sides of killer disco funk jazz fusion; a collabo between Arthur Conley (under his Lee Roberts alter ego), Glenn Helstone (South African jazz funk group Jabula) and a bunch of unnamed musicians. Result is two sides of sublime crossover of funk, disco and South African jazz. 'Freedom is the thing' is a spiritual jazz/soul banger with a superb guitar solo and both sides have the inimitable vocals of Arthur Conley. A-side is a bit more disco funk.
