Most, if not all, of the vinyl posted here was from a collector who took VERY good care of his vinyl. There ARE some clear tape issues on covers that we will point out if applicable. These were done by the orginal owner.
Trompeta Toccata is a 1964 jazz album by trumpeter Kenny Dorham. It was released on Blue Note label in 1964 as BST 84181. It was remastered by Rudy Van Gelder in 2006. Trompeta Toccata, as the previous Una Mas, features only four pieces, three of which written by Dorham himself. They are mostly fast bop pieces featuring long trumpet and saxophones solos. As for many Dorham pieces, they incorporate elements from Latin music and blues. Trompet Toccata is recognized as one of Dorham's most relevant works, recorded in his most prolific and inspired period; many critics expected an even greater followup. This one, however, never came since Trompeta Toccata was his last appearance as a leader, and, as Bob Blumenthal points out in his liner notes, "the remainder of Dorhams' recorded career was confined to sideman appearances that can be counted on the fingers of one hand".

Grading Scale:
10: Mint… Perfect record, clean gloss, no marks, beautiful in every way. Very few records will make mint.
9: Mint -… Very clean, only a few light marks. A great record. (May need a cleaning, Discwasher or hand wash)
8: Condition between 7 and 9. but closer to 9
7: VG+… Used, but not abused. Light scratches only. Should play, and look very nice with minimal surface noise.
6: VG… Looks a bit used, light scratches, no gouges, still plays well, some surface noise.
5: VG-… A bit rough but will play ok. Fills the collection.
4: G… Plays very rough. Has multiple scratches. What a bargain!!
