Description
For auction is KENNY BURRELL's "Midnight Blue," on Blue Note BLP 4123, MONO, 1963.
SOUND:
It has been machine-cleaned and I listened to both sides completely. The sound is very good, with the only flaw being minor background noise here and there. This doesn't detract from the music or the enjoyability of the record at all. Overall, the listening experience is about VG+!
VINYL:
Visually, the vinyl has a few scratches, but the playback remains very good. So, about VG. The label is clean with a few spindle marks. The runouts are stamped. Side A: "BNLP 4123-A," Side B: "BNLP 4123-B". Both sides have the "Van Gelder" stamp, as well as the Plastylite "Ear".
COVER:
The cover is about VG+, maybe better. The edges are all straight and solid (with a tiny tear on the bottom). The corners are just the slightest bit softened. The cover is unmarked and retains most of its sheen. It has a radio station catalogue sticker top left. The back is clean aside from slight aging. It has a "review" stamp, and the initials "J.S." in marker.
The photos are of the exact record up for bids. Look before you bid, ask if you want any additional info or pics.
A great record in very nice condition. No reserve, bidding starts at $25.
Every record I auction has been cleaned on a Nitty Gritty vacuum/cleaner. I played every record to determine if there are static, tics, pops, hisses, what have you. I endeavor to thoroughly report any extraneous audio "noise" or problems of any significance. Other than that, I will report on the general condition of each record, both vinyl and jacket, according to Goldmine standards, to the best of my ability.
Every record is put into a new, clean sleeve insert. In the case of an interesting original sleeve insert, I'll include that in the sale.
If you're into this stuff, you might want to save me to your seller's list and check back periodically. I'll be putting a lot of vintage jazz records up for auction. I'm not a collector, nor an audiophile, but I think they are desirable if you're into this kind of material. Click "see other items" and thanks for looking!
