Vintage Vinos features remastered solo and X-Pensive Winos tracks from the out of-print Talk is Cheap, Live at the Palladium and Main Offender albums. Included as a special bonus is "Hurricane", which was previously available only to those who donated to Hurricane Katrina relief at stops on the last Rolling Stones tour. Fans have long sought wider access to this acoustic gem. COLLECTOR S PACKAGING - Vintage Vinos: Limited Edition Vinyl is a 2-LP set on red vinyl. Gatefold packaging, with three sides of music and a fourth side features an etching of the iconic image used on the album s cover. This collection also includes lithograph prints of the album covers from Keith s first three solo albums

As we discovered in the pages of his autobiography LIFE, Keith Richards is proud, justifiably so, of his great band. No, not that one. The X-Pensive Winos, the group he formed in 1987 when the Rolling Stones were on hiatus. The band had an A-list lineup with Steve Jordan and Charlie Drayton sharing duties on drums and bass, Waddy Wachtel - the American Keith Richards - on guitar, Ivan Neville on keys and the Stones frequent collaborator Bobby Keyes on saxophone. Sarah Dash, one-time member of Labelle, shared lead vocals with Richards, who played guitar and fronted the band. A majority of the album has been co-written with co-producer Steve Jordan, and features Waddy Wachtel on guitar and Ivan Neville on keys and the song "Illusion", a duet with Norah Jones. A year after Some Girls, Keith Richard and Ron Wood set out on a brief, ramshackle tour as the New Barbarians, supported by Stanley Clark on bass, Ian McLaughlin and Bobby Keys. This was brief but legendary, since it could be romanticized as the Stones' Id unhinged – the two hardest partiers in the band, out on their own, rampaging and pillaging, drinking and drugging, running wild. Apart from a single that was kind of released, but not really, there were no official recordings, but plenty of bootlegs circulated over the years, with no official release of the live material until 2006's Buried Alive: Live in Maryland appeared. This performance has circulated before, but never in such clear fidelity, or in such careful packaging, which is why this is worthwhile for those who already have the boots.
