Description
Katz – Talking ‘bout You / I’m so Nasty 7” vinyl release on bands own private label (an SRT pressing) from 1979 (SRTS/79/CUS533).
You are bidding for an original copy of this collectable single by Katz.
Having the opportunity to work in the Swindon area reasonably frequently, I have been fortunate enough to find a couple of copies of this fabulous single by local band Katz. Mario Panciera includes the following short description in his excellent 45 revolutions book:
‘A reasonably good Punk (y) single complete with energetic guitars and strong vocals which will also appeal to NWOBHM collectors due to the Hard Rock tinged A side. The Punk flip is a remarkable offering somewhat similar to The Carpettes. The 7” was released in December 1979 through SRT and is well worth a spin although now very hard to find.’
Well one copy is staying a treasured item in my own collection, but the second is offered here for a lucky bidder...
Visually the vinyl is in great condition with a few very light marks visible under a good light. The worst of mark is a very, very light scratch which extends most of the way across the B side which I have tried to show in the last of my photos included with this listing, but it is so faint it is difficult to see.
Audibly none of the marks affect play and although a cheap private pressing it is a great copy with nothing more serious to note than an occasional click or pop, so overall I would grade this as a nice Ex- copy.
The labels are beautifully clean with little evidence of any spindle marking so I grade them as Ex.
To my knowledge this was never issued with a sleeve, so it comes in a clean plain white sleeve.
Overall then a really nice copy of this rare and collectable single graded as Ex-/ (Vinyl/Sleeve).
