This Canadian disc was pressed using a beautiful pink and white marble (the less attractive US marble issue is pink, black and grey) with each copy being unique in it's colour pattern. It is still the most attractive of all this title's coloured original and reissued releases. This original and very rare 1985 Canadian limited edition first pressing was made by CBS Records Canada under license for Capitol Records-EMI of Canada Limited. This LP was issued with a custom paper inner sleeve having lyrics, credits and two photos. The catalogue number is printed in the top right corner of the "The Ninth Wave" side and has the opening on the top unlike the UK issue that has the opening on the side and is in a thicker cardboard inner sleeve. The Canadian inner sleeve has the "lip" (one side is slightly shorter to allow easier disc removal) on the "The Ninth Wave" side. The US inner sleeve has the lip on the "Hounds Of Love" side and has no catalogue number. The Canadian release has no bar code on the back of the jacket unlike the UK or US editions.
The jacket is in near mint condition. There are no splits on the top and bottom seams or the spine. The front and back of the jacket are free of creases, ring wear or other types of wear and there are no delete marks or bent corners. The spine has crisp straight edges with no handling wear so the text is all clear and legible.
The inner sleeve is in excellent plus condition. There are no seam splits or bent corners. There is a trace of the LP's contour lightly pressed which is a natural and unavoidable common occurrence.
The LP is in near mint to mint condition showing no signs of wear or surface marks and appears to be have been never played and is completely flat with no warping. The labels are in mint condition showing no spindle marks or other types or markings. This disc has been cleaned on a VPI record cleaning machine and placed in a new clear plastic inner sleeve.
