Description
This is a fine original U.S. pressing copy of the third LP by SoCal folk-blues-country-rock/world music group the Kaleidoscope, released in 1969. At this point, original member Chris Darrow had departed, leaving as the core of the group multi-instrumentalists David Lindley, who went on to become a Jackson Browne sideman and to release several solo LPs, and Solomon "Saul" Feldthouse, an Idaho native of Turkish descent who brought a Middle Eastern flavor to the group's music. This LP follows the group's second in featuring an eclectic collection of songs (all but one of them originals this time around) and a long instrumental jam, the Eastern-tinged "Seven-Ate Sweet" (i.e., 7/8 Suite). Per Discogs, original versions of the LP have a nonce word at the end of the group's rocking version of the traditional folk song "The Cuckoo" ("glarp") that for some reason was edited out of later releases. The version of the song on this copy is unedited. The unipak jacket has some ring wear on the back cover, and is otherwise close to pristine -- EX(+). The jacket's seams have come unglued. The disc is clean with a little light scuffing, and plays with some light surface noise -- EX(+).
I’m in the process of selling off a large personal collection amassed over two decades. All discs have been stored in plastic lined inner sleeves separate from their jackets. The jackets have been stored in plastic sleeves. I have play graded (spot checked) discs except where otherwise noted.
