Description

Julie Driscoll, Brian Auger & The Trinity - Open

(Marmalade 607002 UK LP 1967)

This is a UK original Mono LP pressing. It has a matt sleeve & comes with its original generic polythene lined company inner sleeve. The record is pressed on thick vinyl & has smooth "Marmalade" labels. It has 1st press A-1-1-1/ B-1-1-1 matrix stampers. A genuine UK Mono 1st pressing of this great 1960's UK Mod-Jazz-Psych LP.

Sleeve: There is mild, moderate to considerable rubbing wear to the top & bottom edges. There is some moderate rubbing wear to the corner tips. There is some light, mild or very mild rubbing wear on the spine on some areas. The spine text is completely legible. There are a couple of mild creases in one corner tip area. There is some mild, very mild or more moderate ringwear on some areas. There is some light, mild or very mild foxing on some areas. This is not too noticeable. Overall, Very Good minus condition

Vinyl: There are some light, mild or very mild sleeve rubs which can only be seen under a strong light. There are a couple of small areas of more moderate sleeve rubs. These, again, can only be seen under a strong light. There one light but quite long 8 cm surface hairline mark that goes across Side 2. Overall, Very Good condition. The labels are in Very Good++ condition & show light or very mild spindle wear. There is some minor foxing on Side 2's label. The company inner sleeve is in Very Good condition. There is some mild, very mild ringwear, fading & creasing. There are no seam splits.

I have fully play tested this LP. It plays Very Good to Very Good+ overall. There is some light, mild or very mild crackle in the background to a varying degree. This is only really noticeable in the quieter places. There are a few areas of more moderate crackle. This doesn't last too long. The crackle does not overpower the music in any place. There are a few mild clicks at the very end of Side 1..

This LP would definitely benefit from a professional deep down groove clean. Any crackle, in the main, is just due to deep down dirt in the grooves. This LP would play Near Excellent to Excellent, I believe, after a professional deep down groove clean.
