Shows a couple light surface scratches which can only be seen upon very close inspection.

How this record came to be:

Dick Campbell & Art Sullivan(me) met Jules Blattner one weekend in 1969 when he was playing at a teen club then called Joe's White Elephant (owned by Joe Donny) in Monroe WI.  Jules was interested in having 2 of his songs recorded and pressed using our label CineVista Records.  A label Dick & I established a few years earlier and had several other releasess.  My cousin Dick drew the actual design for the lable.  He wanted the records to sell when appearing in various cities during his tours.  Dick & I had been recording ourselves and others since 1961 and so Jules had confidence we could do this well for him.  We had been using Cuca Records (owned by Jim Kirschstein) in Sauk City WI since 1965 for many of our projects so this is where the work was done for this single.  I don't remember the number of copies, however I know it wasn't many as Dick & I actually pressed them ourselves at Cuca's pressing plant.

Jules Blattner Biography:

Jules Blattner is a rock & rolls original, from a town that spawned one of the great founding rock & roll originals, Chuck Berry. Born in St. Louis, MO, in 1941, he was a young teenager when the music caught on, and was already making plans to do something with it when the music began roaring up the chart in 1955. At age 15, in 1956, he organized his first group, Jules Blattner & the Teen Tones. Evidently, they were the first rock & roll band (or, at least, the first white rock & roll band) ever seen in the area, made of kids from around there (and so young that Blattner's mother drove them to their gigs in the early days), and they had the field to themselves. And for quite a while, on that lower end of the rock & roll business, they cleaned up, playing hundreds of local shows over the next few years. In 1959, Bob Lyons, who owned a small local label, Bobbin Records, and decided to record them, also noticed them. The resulting single, "Rock & Roll Blues" b/w "Gambling Man," cut at Lyons' garage studio, is regarded as a classic of late-era rockabilly, and even got good reviews in Billboard and Cashbox. It hit number eight locally in St. Louis, which was enough to generate a second single, "Teen Town" b/w "Green Stuff." And thanks to their local standing, they got to share stages with such national luminaries as Jesse Belvin, Brenda Lee, the Isley Brothers, and Little Richard when they played St. Louis.

DAMAGE BY CARRIER:  If the shipping box or envelope containing your item arrives in poor condition, please open the package immediately to determine any damage.  If there is visible damage, have the carrier provide you with proof that the box or envelope was mishandled and notify us immediately for instructions.
Local Pick-Up:  Arrangements must be made in advance for pickup.  
Multiple Discount:  All items are generally shipped separately to insure item is packed well to prevent damage. Multiple packaging and discounts may apply to auctions offering similar items that are ending on the same day; i.e. books, CD's, records. 
SHIPPING: 
Economy:  Indicates items will ship USPS Media Mail, 1st class (less then13oz) or Parcel Post (over 13oz)  
Standard:  Indicates items will ship USPS Priority, Flat Rate Box or UPS ground service and are fully insured.
Domestic:  When a flat rate amount or free shipping is offered it is for contiguous USA only.
International, AK, HI and PR:  USPS. Insurance may be included in handling cost.  Import duties, taxes and charges are not included in the item price or shipping charges.  These charges are the buyer's responsibility.  Please check with your country's customs office to determine what these additional costs will be prior to bidding/buying.  The delivering Freight Company normally collects these additional costs.  Do not confuse them for additional shipping charges.  We do not mark merchandise values below value or mark items as "gifts" - US and International government regulations prohibit such behavior.  Some countries have restrictions on acceptable items, material and size please verify before bidding.
