Journey Escape Vinyl LP Original 1981 US pressing with embossed coverNo writing on cover or labels. Cover is in Excellent condition with minor cover wear. (See first 2 photos). Original US first pressing features an embossed cover where part of the front cover artwork is raised. (See last 2 photos). Disc is in VG+ (Very Good Plus) condition with paper scuffs scuffs and a few minor surface marks on side 2 that did not affect play on my system. Label is custom made for this release (not regular Columbia records label). Includes original inner sleeve with lyrics that has some creasing from the record being stored in it and some natural yellowing with age. (See photos 3 & 4).
I am including a FREE clear outer protective and a poly-lined inner sleeve to keep your album in great shape. An excellent album to add to your Vinyl record collection!
Journey's seventh studio album, released in July of 1981, and generally considered the band's breakthrough album, launching them from moderate success to superstardom. Upon retiring from the band, keyboardist and vocalist Gregg Rolie recommended The Baby's Jonathan Cain as his replacement. Cain developed a songwriting partnership with vocalist Steve Perry and guitarist Neal Schon that pushed the band in the direction of hook-heavy arena rock. The album was a massive hit on release, reaching #1 on the Billboard charts, and spawning three Top 10 singles (Don't Stop Believin', Who's Crying Now, Open Arms) and two Top 20 singles (Stone In Love and Still They Ride). In July 2021, it was certified diamond by the RIAA, (for sales in excess of 10 million copies) making it the band's most successful studio album and second most successful album overall behind Greatest Hits. (Which sold 15 million copies in the U.S.)
