Original promotional release of Josefus’ 2nd studio album released by Mainstream Records in 1970. Quite rare and collectible release of the band from Houston, Texas which became the connecting link between the hard rock of the late 60s and the metal of the early 70s. This album, just like the band’s first album “Dead Man” also released in 1970, was created under a strong influence from Led Zeppelin with some of the elements borrowed from the other British and American bands of that time. Josefus is considered one of the first models for the blunt sound of Texas hard rock and heavy metal. This promo copy contains the white Mainstream Records “Promotional Not For Sale” label with the catalog number “S-6127”. Pressed at the Columbia Records, Pitman, NJ plant, the vinyl includes the matrix numbers Side 1 – KY646A-1 A1 P; Side 2 – KY647B-1 A4 P with the “CP” suffix, the identifier of the pressing plant. It's very hard to find this album in such a pristine condition with the vinyl looking as if it has been played only a few times. The album comes with the original Mainstream Records white paper inner sleeve.

The cover of this rare album is graded as Excellent and perhaps, would be Near Mint Minus if it wasn't due to some light age discoloration and foxing on the front and back and some very light age shelf wear. The clean cover doesn't have any splits, writing or residue. The rigid spine contains a fully readable text. It appears that the vinyl has been played only a few times. It looks stunning and retains its beautiful glossy lacquer. The vinyl has only a couple of barely noticeable very light non-feelable surface marks. The snow white labels are in Mint Minus condition and don't have any spindle marks, scuffs or wear at all. The vinyl sounds amazing with perhaps just some very light occasional static which most likely would go away if the record was professionally cleaned using a VPI cleaning machine. The original paper inner sleeve is in Near Mint condition.
