Jorge Duílio Lima Menezes is a Brazilian popular musician, performing under the stage name Jorge Ben Jor since the 1980s though commonly known by his former stage name Jorge Ben. Performing in a samba style that also explored soul, funk, rock and bossa nova sounds
Negro É Lindo is his eighth album which was released in 1971. The title is a translation of the slogan "Black is beautiful" to Portuguese. The album has a song called "Cassius Marcelo Clay" paying homage to boxer and black activist Muhammad Ali.

Released in a laminated card sleeve which is graded as EX-. There is some fairly minor ring wear visible on the back. The cover is reasonably clean despite the fact that it has been handled. It does have one issue - there is some fairly faint writing in blue biro on the top of the front of the sleeve (see pictures). '????? Lot's of Love and Happiness, Maria.' Otherwise the sleeve is in great condition with minimal edge and rub wear.
The original polythene inner is undamaged.
Vinyl - Stereo vinyl grades as NM and plays perfectly. The Philips Labels are are clean with the hint of a spindle mark. The record doesn't appear to have been played much at all and the surfaces are clean and shiny. No major deterioration in sound quality.

A superb copy of this very rare album - if it were not for the faint writing on the cover this would be an archive copy - the vinyl certainly is!!
