Joni Mitchell Song to a Seagull 1st UK Pressing Tri-Colour Steamboat #1
Very Rare First pressing of this amazing debut album. Whilst the label is the original steamboat reprise label all of the sleeves were made in canada.
Over the last 40 years I have had in my hands about 10 copies on this rare label and so far to date I have yet to get a mint playing record.
This is one of 3 versions of this album I am listing, 2 with the original label and one with the tan reprise label and reguardless of how they look they all pretty much play the same.
I have to ask myself if there was a problem with the masters initially and they never decided to do anything about it.
With reguards to the Canadian sleeve please note there is no mention of the K prefix reprise catealogue number on the front and the Stereo sticker inside the cover confirming this is the first issue cover. Anyway we are where we are so here is my appraisal of this copy.
The vinyl is in Very Good plus Condition visually and shows some light marks that will not cause the vinyl to jump or stick. The record plays through both sides with no jumping or sticking at any point, there are some background noises inbetween the tracks and during the quieter spells, in some parts I found the background noise quite annoying but not enough to ruin my enjoyment, if you are looking for CD quality sound from this record I am not sure it exists. Side 2 plays similar to side 1 with maybe a little more background crackles
The Inner sleeve is in Near Mint Condition and shows no writing, tears or seam splits at all, just some very minor signs of being handled.
