Jonathan Richman And The Modern Lovers "Modern Lovers 88"
This is a US vinyl pressing on Rounder 9014 from 1987. The back cover is autographed : "Jonathan Richman and Brennan". This album has two inserts : one lists the dates and cities for their European tour during Winter 1988. The other is catalog application for Roundup Records.
I got this album from Tower Records in Portland, Oregon. I was there the day after they shut the doors and went out of business. I bought lots of promo stand-ups, album cover slicks, 7" singles, and a box of about 100 albums. ALL of the albums had been taken off of the high walls of the store. Every album was autographed !! They were autographed to store employees that had gone to their concerts. This album is sold 'as is' with no proof or authentication.
The band is : Jonathan Richman, Brennan Totten, and Johnny Avila. This album was produced by The Modern Lovers. The cover photos are by Andy Paley and Barbara McHugh.
The songs are : Dancin' Late At Night, When Harpo Played His Harp, Gail Loves Me, New Kind Of Neighborhood, African Lady, I Love Hot Nights, California Desert Party, Everything's Gotta Be Right, Circle 1, I Have Come Out To Play, and The Theme From Moulin Rouge.
Overall Condition is : Cover is VG+ / Record is M
The cover is VG+ with no seam splits. There is light wear, slight water damage on the back cover at the bottom edge, and writing on the back cover. The vinyl look mint and it plays mint. The labels are clean with no spindle marks. The record comes in a clear plastic inner sleeve.

I started collecting records in 1966. I started selling records in Goldmine in 1985. I now sell records at all Northwest record conventions : Portland, Seattle, Tacoma, Olympia, Eugene, Grants Pass, and Canby. And at Crossroads Music in Portland, Oregon. On Discogs I am 'Fragilerecords'. My records are from a no smoking and no pets home. I am a record collector, not a DJ, so I almost never play my records.
Packaging :
I take great care on every package and I do each one personally. I will package this record between two pieces of hand cut cardboard. Each piece is 1/2 inch thick, triple strength industrial cardboard. Together they are very strong and unbendable. I always remove the record from the cover and seal them in a clear plastic sleeve. The package will be marked in red : "Fragile Record" on both sides.
Postage : Weight : 1 pound 7 ounces
You have to pay for the postage. I pre-weigh every package, so that you pay the exact amount the post office charges. There are NO handling charges. This record will weigh 23 ounces when ready to ship. US winners can choose between Media mail or Priority mail. I will print postage through Paypal and you will get an automatic email with the tracking number. Overseas winners will get shipping by First Class Mail International.
