"Born Johnny Zamot, in a small city in Puerto Rico called Quebradilia, Johnny was destined to be exactly what he is known as today, a world renown percussionist. Ever since he can remember, after arriving in the New York City at the age of ten, Johnny was edging towards becoming a first class percussionist, banging on tin cans, garbage cans and anything else that he could to make his music. This pattern, known as "the fever" and started with the percussionists that came before him and whom Johnny idolized as he was growing up.
Johnny progressed from performing on the timbales (tumbadora), to the bongos and then onto what his passion has become, the congas.
Johnny’s professional career started with the first band he formed, "The Johnny Zamot Band". They were discovered while performing at the famed New York City Jazz Club, The Metropole Café. Johnny’s band joined the ranks of legendary Jazz greats, who were frequently asked to perform at the club, such as Bennie Goodman, Lionel Hampton and Gene Krupa. "The Johnny Zamot Band" was performing tropical music at the time and was the first Latin band ever invited to perform at The Metropole Café. Tropical Music, now known as "Salsa", is a style which is synonymous with Johnny Ray, who has given his life to the genre."

Geez, I used to see ads that included huge explanations here on ebay and think "Wow, what's that all about?" Now, I have an ad with a huge explanation at the end. Well, time & experience...there are some wiggy people out there in cyberland and it only takes one of them to ruin a good week! Amazingly, the inclusion of this section in 2002 has had remarkable results. And so, for continued luck & peace of mind in 2004, it's staying!
