Sleeve: Mint- w/ a whisper of very light back cover wear, 3 tiny spots of corner wear, 2 very tiny corner dings (one with an extremely tiny split), a hole punch.
Record: Looks Mint- and plays almost Mint- w/ just a few light background ticks at the beginning of each side and a few other light random background ticks. / VPI cleaned
COMMENTS: Beautiful original 1970 Rare Groove LP from super arranger Johnny Pate who is one of the music world's behind-the-scenes talents, providing the arrangements and studio support for instrumentalists, singers, and vocal groups in the sometimes overlapping zones of jazz, R&B/soul, and pop. OUTRAGEOUS, originally released in 1970, is where Pate got to step into the limelight on his own. Somewhere between an album of funk instrumentals and the soundtracks to `70s blaxploitation films released in the wake of SHAFT. Features an incredible cast of musicians : Cornell Dupree, Joe Beck (guitar); Jerome Richardson, Al Richardson (flute); Marty Markowitz, Ernie Royal, Irwin "Marky" Markowitz, Snooky Young (trumpet); Al Grey, Thomas Mitchell (trombone); Richard Tee (organ); Chuck Rainey (upright bass, electric bass); Bernard "Pretty" Purdie (drums); Montego Joe (congas, percussion); George Devens (percussion).
