Description
Background
Over the next 12-18 months I’ll be selling off a massive collection of records (5000+) from a shop that shut it’s doors in the early 1980’s. The collection covers a period from the late 1960’s through to the time of the shop’s closure and includes large quantities of 60s/70’s rock, progressive and modern classical music. Most of the items are unplayed (or at most have sustained a single play) unless otherwise noted. You don’t get many opportunities to purchase unplayed 70’s shop stock anymore! This short paragraph of background information is included whenever an item has been sourced from this collection.
UNSOLD SHOP STOCK RARE 1970 TROJAN Purple/Orange/White textured label pressing of Johnny Osbourne and the Sensations ‘Come Back Darling’ L.P. (Catalogue Reference: Trojan TTL29). These early Trojan lp pressings are particularly difficult to come by particularly in half decent condition let alone the played once condition we have here! As you would expect this is a nice heavy B & C/Island pressing typical of the period. The vinyl is conservatively graded as being in EXCELLENT+ condition. The only thing which presents me from grading this NEAR MINT is a group of hairline scratches in close proximity on the edge of the playing surface on the B-side otherwise you know you are looking at a copy which has been played once! The sleeve is also graded as being in EXCELLENT+ condition. There is a lovely ‘fresh’ look to the laminate and no loss of print to the exposed rear of the sleeve (more condition details below).

Condition
L.P, Cover
The cover is graded as being in EXCELLENT+ condition. As noted above there is a great ‘fresh’ appearance to the laminate and the print on the exposed rear is as clear as the day this was manufactured. Both these points demonstrate how little this item has been handled in its 40+ years. All four corners have sustained light knocks with the heaviest knock to the bottom right-hand corner, which has resulted in a crease and a resulting laminate bubble. There is a tiny amount of laminate ‘lift’ to the top left-hand edge of the sleeve. The latter is barely worth mentioning but it is there! A beautiful looking copy!
Vinyl
This has been graded under an intense light (like all my items) and is conservatively graded as being in EXCELLENT+ condition. You look at this copy and just know it has never seen more than a single play. The only thing which prevents me grading it as NEAR MINT are a small patch of hairline scratches on the B-side (near the edge of the playing surface) otherwise there is nothing to note and it looks the way it would’ve looked the day it was manufactured. A stunning copy!

Another RARE item in a condition that you probably won’t better! Please check my other auctions for further items from the same source in similarly immaculate condition. Save me as a Favourite Seller because there is plenty more good stuff where this came from!

I endeavour to be accurate with all my grading. All items are graded under an intense light. I have been a collector for in excess of 15 years and I would describe myself as being conservative (I think my feed-back speaks for itself in this respect)!
