This is the First Record Ever Recorded By Johnny Horton, You do not have this one, and only if you are his wife or his brother have you heard it, Until Now!
This copy originated from Johnny Horton’s Brother Frank, I have had it about 15 years. This 78 pre dates any material that has ever been discovered on Horton. To my knowledge, from a very reliable source, there were only a Couple to a handful of these made. The only other copy that has been discovered was from his widow, Billie Jean Horton.
At this time, this copy is 1 of 2 known to exist.
The labels have tape, and the spindle hole is worn and enlarged, the tape holds the record on the spindle when played. The Vinyl surface is a 6-7 on a scale of 10, just a few light scuffs. Sound quality is VG+ to VG++, sounds really good.

The style is Western, not the country or country pop Horton Later recorded with Mercury and Columbia records.
The Other 2 Cormac Releases are available from time to time, this 78 catalog number pre dates those releases. The catalog number on this one dates it as late 1950 to early 1951.
In summary, this is widely believed to be Horton’s first commercial recording, pressed as if it were going to be for sale at a performance, but it never happened.
