Description
JOHNNY HODGES - DANCE BASH, Norgran MGN-1024, deep groove pressing, green label. Cover art by David Stone Martin
The music on this classic LP was recorded in 1952 & 1955. The players are Shorty Baker, Emmett Berry (trumpet), Lawrence Brown (trombone), Johnny Hodges (alto sax), Arthur Clarke, Flip Phillips, Ben Webster (tenor sax), Leroy Lovett (piano), John Williams, Ray Brown, Red Callendar (bass), Louis Bellson, J. C. Heard (drums), Al Hibbler (vocal - 2 tracks).
The tunes are Perdido, Mood Indigo, Squatty Roo, Rose Room, Blues For Basie, This Is My Night to Love, This Love of Mine.
Condition of record is E-, some very light scuffing, no scratches, no spindle marks, plays clean and quiet. Jacket shows some overall wear, top and bottom seams are repaired with clear tape.

V = Very Good. Noticeable wear, visual and audible. Records with slight surface noise and/or scuffs fall into this category.
G = Good. Not really all that good. Records in this category have more significant damage or wear.
F = More severe damage, distracting surface noise. Only used in incidence of extreme rarity.
P = Poor condition, proves existence of record only.
