Description
Vinyl: Sealed
This is an original ‘360’ copy of Johnny Cash’s Folsom Prison Blues. As seen in the picture the perforation on the plastic sleeve remains intact, so the record has essentially never been opened. This is a unique opportunity to have a sealed record, and still know what label version you’re buying. I can read the matrix numbers through the plastic, and this is a -1D/-1B copy, fairly close to the generally sought after -1A/-1B releases. I will ship with the new outer sleeve and jacket.

I will also ship with the black cardboard jacket, I just used it because it was easier to store that way.
All records are VPI cleaned (unless sealed) and placed in a new sleeve. If the original inner sleeve is included, it will be in the photos. Records will also ship in a poly outer sleeve in a cardboard record mailer.
I’m a bit of a collector, and I’ll be listing some CDs and records in the next few days as I try to downsize a bit.

Note: I cannot offer a return on a sealed record that has been opened (unless it is broken or something). I think this is pretty typical.
I pretty much try to stick to goldmine grading, but here’s a short breakdown of how I do things for the vinyl:
NM : The record has to be perfect, and I will not be able to see any scuffs or hairlines under the light at any angle.
EX : I use this for records that look very nice and shiny, but some superficial blemish stops me from using the NM grade. I added this one because I am very picky about calling things NM.
VG+ : This if the grade I use for most of the items I list. These records play with minimal noise, maybe some very light crackle during the quiet parts. Visually these may have a few light hairline scuffs that disappear at different angles, or some sleeve scuffing. There will be no scratches/marks that could be felt with a fingernail.
VG : These will have more hairlines and more noise but still play nicely for the most part. They may also have a few clicks or pops but I still try not to use this grade if it has any mark that can be felt with a fingernail.
G : These may start to have a bit of distortion due to overplay or a large number of marks. I haven’t listed vinyl at this grade yet and will only do that occasionally.
For the covers, I take a lot of pictures to try and show you what you are getting but here’s another short description.
NM : Looks brand new, no yellowing or weakness in the paper, hard to believe it is vintage paper or cardboard.
EX : Maybe shows a bit of age but only superficial corner bumps and edge dings.
VG+ : Corner bumps and corner dings, maybe a small cut, maybe a very light ring in some cases.
VG : In addition to the problems shown above, it may have a little more ring wear, or small seam splits.
G : Larger splits, heavier wear on cover.
