Description

Put up for auction is a framed actual 75 rpm record#241 of Johnny Cash’s I Walk the Lineand Get Rhythm.  It has been carefully preserved by an obviouscollector/fan, with an inscription touchingly hand-printed on the backboard that reads:
                                   RECORDED   1956 --  MEMPHIS, TENN
                                         Johnny Cash   -- Vocal, Guitar
                                         Luther Perkins  -- Guitar
                                         Marshall Grant  -- Bass

The record is home-framed in a humble, tramp-art-like fashion, using a hand-made tan wood frame specked with dull gold spots and distressed from age and handling over the years.  The record has a wood screw through the center hole, holding it in place on a heavy cardboard backing. The screw is “covered” in packaging tape to prevent injury. Side one, which features the classic hit I Walk the Line, looks to be in good shape, with very light wear and minimal marks as can be seen through the glass. The smudges and marks in the photo are mostly from the glass and reflections, and as you can see, I am not a photographer, by any means. Side two features another great Johnny Cash hit, Get Rhythm, and I assume it is in same condition, with minor scratches, if any. However, I haven’t examined it myself so there is no guarantee as to what might be found there.

This is a unique tribute and loving presentation of a great Johnny Cash 78 Record, containing a well-preserved copy of music created by the Man in Black. I have estimated the condition as Good Plus (G+) because I am not an expert on grading records. The side we can view does have one visible scratch, but the record is not broken or chipped.

Framed size is approximately 15.5 x 19.5 inches.

Original Label reads:

Record Company
Hi-Lo Music, Vocal, BMI-U191
I WALK THE LINE
(J. Cash)
JOHNNY CASH
and Tennessee Two
241
Memphis, Tennessee
