John Lennon Sings the Great Rock and Roll Hits - Vinyl LP on the Adam IVV Ltd Label A8018, released 1975.

Notorious LP pulled from circulation by Lennon, who eventually released much of the material as Rock and Roll, although there are several tracks here exclusive to this recording. There are a number of pirate versions of this record, and I am fairly certain that this one is not authentic, but it is good enough that I wonder. I am giving as full a description as I can muster, and hopefully there is someone out there with deep Beatle knowledge who can put it together from my notes. Anyone wishing to contact me about this LP should feel free to write, and I will change the auction as necessary based on what I learn.

Condition: Wax is in NM condition. Jacket is NM, still in shrink. The LP certainly looks fabulous.

Tracks: Be Bop A Lula, Ain't That a Shame, Stand By Me, Sweet Little 16, Rip It Up, Angel Baby, Do YOu Want to Dance, You Can't Catch Me, Bony Maronie, Peggy Sue, Bring It On Home to Me, Slippin' and Slidin', Be My Baby, ya Ya, Just Because.

Comments: Orange Adam VIII label, visible in the scan. Cover does appear to be printed on the jacket itself, instead of paper on the outside of cardboard, which according to Goldmine is a sign of authenticity. The names of the songs/artists on the back of the LP is often considered an identifier of authenticity, but I am confused as to what they mean. If they mean that you can acutally read the titles on the little record graphics, then you can't, but if they mean in the ad itself, then they are quite legible, as the second scan indicates. Lastly, there is the assertion that the Matrix numbers actually trail off into the label. I find this totally flabbergasting, because I've never seen anything like that in my life, but if that is the case, then this thing is probably a pirate. The Matrix number is 8018, and the grooves do extend almost to the label itself.
