Description

This is, as I understand the discography, the 2nd rarest pressing of this LP, being the first UK released version in stereo, and the 2nd release on Apple Records after George Harrison's Wonderwall Music. (The "stereo" is actually simulated stereo, as the original recording was made in John's basement on monaural equipment.)

Some copies of this LP (including all released in the US on Tetragrammaton) were covered with a brown paper bag, for obvious reasons. This copy does not have the brown paper cover.

The Apple labels are in beautiful condition.

The Track Records logo is on the right hand side of the label with the catalogue number 613012 below it. The SAPCOR2 number is smaller below the Track number.

The matrix numbers are machine stamped: SAPCOR 2A-1 and SAPCOR 2B-1 (see photos)

The vinyl exhibits some surface noise and ticking, but plays through on both sides without skips or distortion. There is some visible brush marking on both sides but the overall impression is of a well-maintained LP. Vinyl is clean and shiny. (Having said that, this LP is likely not being purchased for the sonic experience.)

The laminated sleeve has a mild stain at bottom right corner (see photos). There is slight delamination at this area as well as two areas near the front left corners, but the laminate remains intact with no tears. There is a very small red mark at the top of the front cover near John's head that could possibly be cleaned off. No writing or other markings anywhere on the sleeve or LP.

The original inner sleeve is properly die-cut on one side only and is in EX condition.

If you've made it this far, you know what you're looking for. This is a rare LP with an appropriate reserve value. The few copies available for sell at retail online are valued upwards of $500.
