This is a genuine first issue Wedding Album Box Set which is complete with all the correct and genuine U.K. components as it would have been in on its first release back in November 1969.

After the first and only U.K. Apple records edition had sold out, some later copies had the USA box substituted with all the U.K. inserts.

These sets had the USA catalog number on the side of the box of SMAX 3361 whereas original first pressing U.K. editions like this one does not.

The package was a souvenir of John & Yoko’s Wedding, which took place in Gibraltar (near Spain) on 20th March 1969.

So what’s included in this elaborate U.K. original box set designed by John Kosh?

CONDITION THE BOX

Obviously starting with the box, firstly and most importantly it has 2 corner splits to the lid.

These are definitely repairable with the correct craft items.

Amazingly 2 split corners is very good considering most U.K. box’s turn up with at least 3 or 4 corner splits!

There is some staining / ageing to the front more so to the top flap, also a cup ring is visible to the left of the centre picture, so maybe the stains are tea or something!

The spine is fully readable as is the apple records logo on the bottom.

On the reverse is the marriage certificate which is obviously perfect and not bubbled as they can be and the inside of the box is is nice and clean!

The bottom of the box is solid with all corners as they should be , more stained areas and a rubbed section and small split at the top!

I’ve reported all imperfections to the box but even after this it’s still a very good example and a genuine U.K. one!

GATEFOLD SLEEVE

Really nice example here with good lamination , a few creases to the front flap.

Fully readable great spine , small split at the bottom.

The reverse lamination has a slight roughness to it which is also common to these covers.

Some very small lamination lifts to the right.

The inner gatefold is in fabulous Excellent ++ shape just the small split at the bottom mentioned previously and a small crease at the top fold!

Once again for its faults it’s in Excellent condition and a solid example!

THE VINYL

Firstly correct patents made in Great Britain white inner sleeve, no splits and in Excellent condition!

Firstly both labels are perfect with no trails around the centre hole and let’s be honest this LP wouldn’t get many plays.

Side 1 would be mint except for 2 very light grazes near the end of the side.

Side 2 is perfect mint.

PVC BAGISM BAG

The U.K. was always ahead with these type of box sets and this set was no exception. The USA set had a wafer thin plastic BAGISM bag for their Wedding album , but the U.K. set is a very heavy thick plastic.

There’s no splits on any side just some rippling on the back , also common to this bag, but it’s in Excellent condition!

WEDDING CAKE PHOTO

Can’t have a wedding without cake and lucky this one will never go stale!

Great Excellent condition just sone little handling creases.

THE PRESS 20 PAGE BOOKLET

So not all press that John & Yoko got at the time was favourable, but this booklet shows a good selection of what was being said about the couple at the time and also around the world.

The booklet is in great condition , both sides retain their original shine a few handling creases (thumb nails) on front right and back left but it’s in Excellent + condition still!

TRI FOLD CARTOON STRIP

Johns cartoons of the wedding which is a double sided poster.

Some very light toning around edges and a couple of small stains and handling creases but in Excellent condition!

Well to sum up , this set is incredibly rare and if you’re holding out for a MINT one it’s gonna be a long and costly experience.
