A VERY scarce John Lennon Demo of IMAGINE. Released on the APPLE label R6009.It has a release date of 24-10-75 on it.That was the days when DJ`s who had this to play would tell the radio listeners when the record would hit the record shops.
So, condition wise. The record has hardly been played and it still retains a GREAT sheen.There are light spindle spirals around the centre hole.There are some light hairlines when held at an angle to the tlight.An excellent condition record.
The labels are clean and free from stickers-marks-scribbles and rips.Please see the pictures.
The picture sleeve is graded as very good. Just a little corner bumping & a little rubbing.The sleeve is solid with no seam splits or rips or any defacements.
NOW as you know DEMO records are nearly always a first pressing unless the test pressing of it has been given the previous number.Though for this one on the `A` side the Matrix numbers in the run out groove are 7YCE 21775-1. Side 2 is 7YCE 21776-1.
So there it is then.Another GREAT Lennon / Apple Records collectable.John would`ve been 70 this week.What would he have made of all of this now????
As you know DEMO & PROMO records were pressed up in very small quantities of probably no more than 250 & only sent to RADIO DJs & the MUSIC PRESS etc.They were never meant for sale over the counter in your local shop.So pretty scarce items.
