"Huckle Up Baby" features Hooker's highly rhythmic, stinging electric guitar, with either drumsticks or rapidly tapping feet in support, generating a tap dancing style accompaniment on the uptempo arrangement, as John urges his girl to huckle up, which is likely to have a sexual meaning.

"Huckle Up Baby" released in January 1950 spent the solitary week of 11 February 1950 at #15 on The Billboard's Most Played Juke Box Rhythm & Blues Records chart.
