Description

Who could not like John Hartford's folksy playfulness and whimsey--not to mention his fine fiddle, banjo and guitar work and vocals. John said that his early mega-hit "Gentle on my Mind" bought his freedom. This album shows what he did with that freedom. The Julia Belle Swain, subject of a song on side 2, is a steam-powered sternwheeler, current in restoration. John was a frequent guest pilot for that riverboat. Taken from us too early in 2001.
LP is in VG+ condition. Jacket and liner are in VG condition. LP was play-sampled on a Technics SL-Q3 turntable (not included!).
