Description
The John Coltrane Quartette - Coltrane.
Catalogue No. Impulse Stereo A-21, Impulse 4 pillar label with A Product of ABC Paramount Records Inc. printed at the bottom of both labels ( see photos).
From the labels and inner sleeve we believe this to be a 1966/67 transitional pressing.
Degritter cleaned, the vinyl has come up spotlessly clean with an excellent gloss, one or two light scuffs, and a couple of faint patchy areas visible in strong light - nothing remotely feelable or that troubles playback. It sits perfectly flat with clean labels and spindle holes - graded EX.
Playback reveals an astonishingly vibrant sound, incredibly spacious, with detail and depth. Intoxicating & mesmerising, it has real presence. It plays through beautifully with no issues and a low noise floor.
The gatefold laminated sleeve is lovely for the age -shiny and smooth with deep print colours retained, crisp edges and spine, clean interior - a couple of minor creases only. No splits, stains, tape or tears. There is a number written on the rear ( see photos).
The original Impulse printed inner sleeve is included, however, we have decanted the record into a new poly lined inner to preserve it - you will receive both.
The record will be sent separated out in an archival outer sleeve to prevent transit splits.
A great opportunity to own an original copy of this wonderful album in excellent condition.
