Original US LP released in 1965 on Impulse Records. Cat: AS-77. Comes in heavy weight gloss gatefold sleeve. Matrix numbers are: STEREO AS-77.A LW VAN GELDER/ STEREO AS-77.B VAN GELDER LW.
Uncovered in the out back of N.S.W. this record is part of a recent collection stored and unplayed for the last 20 years. Collected during the 90's and mostly sourced from overseas kept in a cool dry cellar there are some tasty gems on offer and we look forward on listing them over the next few months.
One of the most important records ever made, John Coltrane's A Love Supreme was his pinnacle studio outing, that at once compiled all of the innovations from his past, spoke to the current of deep spirituality that liberated him from addictions to drugs and alcohol, and glimpsed at the future innovations of his final two and a half years. Recorded over two days in December 1964, Trane's classic quartet--Elvin Jones, McCoy Tyner, and Jimmy Garrison-- stepped into the studio and created one of the most the most thought-provoking, concise, and technically pleasing albums of their bountiful relationship.

There are a few light spindle marks on labels. Record has some light scuff marks and very light scratches that cause some crackles in parts , there is a mark towards end of track one side one that cause some light clicks that continue into start of track two but don't last for long, there are also a some light clicks and crackles on side two through middle of track worst through the bass solo section, record is in VG condition. Gloss gatefold cover has a few small tears on bottom right corner and a light water mark noticeable on inside bottom edge of gatefold, there are also a few light marks on inside of gatefold. Cover is in Excellent condition.
Wrapping method: All records are sent in stiff cardboard mailers then wrapped in brown paper and sealed around edges with brown packaging tape. Records are taken out of sleeve to avoid seam splits and ring wear.
